Poured from the can into a teku glass. Vintage 2024.
Slightly muddy looking but still somewhat clear bodied and ruby colored appearance. There's a surprising amount of fast rising carbonation, hitting a classic khaki head that only manages about a finger. Seems a little less bold and big than other Gratitude variants but has the retention and a solid nice classic American barlewine look.
Aroma is interesting. Steely fruit, light barrel notes, more of a sense of grapefruit than dark or pitted fruit qualities. Slightly earthy and ashen which seems a bit odd, but not totally unsatisfying.
Palate renders well. Light bodied and a big fruity concoction. Touches big marmalade, cocktail cherry, orange and very light booze with a touching liquor note that fits nicely. Minimal barrel or robust flavors, but still easy drinking at this high abv.
Very nice, but somewhat less impressive than some other Gratitude's variants, mostly from the light texture and lack of barrel power that could be given. The beer almost feels young, but works out in the context of a cocktail brew.
