Incredible! I have been working diligently to eradicate The Bottle Backlog here at Chez Woody as well as getting The CANQuest (tm) back on track. This has enabled me to CANduct a number of brewery horizontals, but even I was incredulous when I realized that I have a slew of Redd's Ales of various stripes with which to perform a horizontal, which is now coming to its CANclusion.

From the CAN: "Refreshingly Hard Ale".

Once more, the presence of a tallboy 24-fl. oz. CAN is an intimidating thing. I was up to the task, Crack!ing it open like a boss. The Glug was a CAN of another color, though, since an inverted Glug is inCANtrollable & a slow Glug dribbles like a little child eating for the first time. I struck a balance & got it flowing in all new & different ways. Once more, the head formed a small cap of fizzy, foamy, bone-white suds that acted like pop & quickly reduced to wisps. Color was Amber to Deep Amber/Light Copper (SRM = > 9, < 13) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had a spicy, tangy bitterness that awoke my nostrils to allow it to flood my sinus cavity. At last, something worthy! Mouthfeel was medium. The taste reminded me of an early library book on how to devise childish amusements. I loved making a pirate cap out of folded newspaper, but it was the clove-studded orange or tangerine that really sticks with me. I grew up in the age of incense & when my maternal grandmother & I made one of these, it was evocative of incense or potpourri & lasted a HECK of a long time! This beer had a light perfuminess to it, but do not be put off by it. Instead, revel in the clove & orange spiciness that is its trademark! I know that I am going to come in high on this one, but it deserves to be tasted. It was neither bitter nor sweet, but spicy, tangy & VERY refreshing. As soon as I invoke "spiciness", then you should know that the finish was dry. Really quite dry. Phew. This was unquestionably the best of a questionable lot. It CAN even be drank warm, or close to room temperature as it seemed to improve as it warmed. I was thoroughly impressed.

Aroma is fresh orange mixed soda. The flavor is pretty similar to the aroma, a little bit of artificial seeping in. Similar to the other Redd offerings, exceeded expectations.

This will be a great summer beach brew and refreshing hard ale .
Look is nothing special with very little head .
Smells terrific as I love blood orange, so it's nice and fruity .
Mouthfeel is thin , but what could be expected.
Overall I loved it and at $1.99 for a 24 oz bomber can of an 8 abv ale it's a good summer beach buzz ale :)
Give it a shot if you are hot and just want something light or something to wash down that sandwich ;)

Redd's Wicked Blood Orange brewed by Miller Brewing Co., with an ABV of 8.00% This brew pours out a deep golden amber color with a small white head. Little to no lacing to this brew. The head to this brew goes away fast. Wicked Blood Orange, has the look of most Redd's brews on the market, not saying that is a bad thing. The smell of this brew is apple, and orange sweetness, with alcohol. There are some faint hits of grains and malts, and spices. Not much on hops in this brew but it is to be expected. Now for the taste, it is bold with flavors. You pick up on the orange sweetness then the apple sweetness. The orange
sweetness is a nice touch to this brew. You can pick up on the 8.00% ABV in this brew. The mouthfeel is orange, apple, bold and refreshing. This is one of the more enjoyable Redd's Wicked I have had. This wicked seems to be more balanced than the cherry wicked.
If you are a fan of the Redd's Ales brews look this one up. Overall I'm giving Redd's Wicked Blood Orange a 3.75 out of 5. I will buy this brew again. Miller brewing co did a nice job with this one.

Poured from a 24 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a dark gold amber color with virtually zero head. The aroma is very sweet orange and a hint of alcohol. The taste is sweetened oranges and you can taste the alcohol on the end of each sip.

I won't go into a long review on this one, They say this is an ale with natural flavorings added. So lets just go with that and all is well. I really liked the orange flavors added in to the taste. The smell was just a real sweet punch that kind of reminded me of a nice wine. As to the look it looks like a fizzy clear golden drink. Mouth was a bit sticky and sweet but not overly so. Overall I liked this one a bit better than the regular Wicked Apple. The addition of the orange picks up as this one warms. There is also a bit of warming from the alcohol as the drink itself warms. Serve chilled to a very cold temperature and I think this would be a most refreshing beverage.

Redd's Wicked Blood Orange ale has an almost nonexistent head of foam, a very clear, orange-gold, bubbly, sparkling appearance, and no lacing left behind. The aroma is very odd- I was quite caught off guard to encounter a smell that was reminiscent of Martini & Rossi Rosso (red vermouth). So, we are getting an overall malt-based ale "thingy", yet with fruity "kids' drink" scents and the botanicals (which, one would assume, Miller would be able to afford, to pull this off). Taste is, likewise, oddly akin to the Rosso, with the beer and fruit flavor backup. Mouthfeel is high medium, and Redd's Wicked Blood Orange finishes medium wet and incredibly interesting, and, if one has the guts to say it, good.

Poured from a 24 oz. can. Has a tan color with no head whatsoever. Smell is of oranges, sugars. Taste is sweet, oranges, sugar, malts, some alcohol is present. Feels light bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer, about on par with other Redd's fruit beers.
