Bought a 24oz can Don Quijote $2.50
Smell of strawberry, kiwi, apples
Clear golden-amber color
Medium-light mouthfeel
Medium carbonation
Sweet strawberry and Kiwi tastes, not overly heavy like other flavored malt liquors
Overall ok for a change. Better than other fruit malt liquors. Wouldn't buy again though.

Appearance: Light reddish amber in color, with a small white head, which fades away. Lacing presents as scattered, broken rings along the glass walls, The carbonation is slight and fast-rising.

Aroma: Strong notes of candied strawberry and kiwi mingle. There is a faint alcohol presence, and no hops.

Taste: The taste opens with a burst of seemingly natural strawberry and kiwi, this carries throughout. The relatively high ABV of 8% is quite well-concealed, with little in the taste, and no warming. Finishes with a flush of strawberry flavor reminiscent of a daiquiri.

Mouth feel: Soft and full, with little carbonation.

Drinkability/notes: More like a shandy or "malternative" than a beer, but would be pleasant on a hot summer day. There is nothing to hate here, its just not a traditional beer.

Presentation: Packaged in a twenty-four ounce aluminum can, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.

Smells like Kiwi and Apples and taste likes Kiwi and apples but well balanced, the kiwi doesn't overpower the apple taste, it's like drinking a breakfast fruit bowl. Though the kiwi does leave a strange slightly sour aftertaste it's still worth drinking for something different.

Incredible! I have been working diligently to eradicate The Bottle Backlog here at Chez Woody as well as getting The CANQuest (tm) back on track. This has enabled me to CANduct a number of brewery horizontals, but even I was incredulous when I realized that I have a slew of Redd's Ales of various stripes with which to perform a horizontal, which is now coming to its penultimate CANclusion.

From the CAN: "Limited Release".

I Crack!ed open this tallboy 24-fl. oz. CAN & just sat, looking at it in all of its majesty. An inverted Glug was CANpletely out of the question, but how to proceed? I have had trouble deCANting such vessels in the past since they have a tendency to dribble. I went aggro, briefly, just long enough to get it started, before backing down & off. It formed a fizzy, foamy finger of bone-white head that quickly dissipated into wisps. Color was solid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had the now-familiar smell of strawberry, having just CANsumed the regular version. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, just a step above being watery. I liked the way that the strawberry taste seemed to be amplified in this beer, perhaps heightened by the presence of kiwi, which CAN mimic strawberry on its own. It was pretty sweet, though, as a result. It was easy-drinking, making it kind of dangerous when you factor in its 8% ABV. My thoughts drifted back to my childhood, drinking Strawberry Kool-Aid in our backyard, whiling away the summer days until school started back. Is Kool-Aid your bag? In my increasing age, it is not mine. I prefer salty & bitter to sweet and fruity. That said, how CAN you dun a beer for truth in advertising? Finish was sweet, not quite cloying, but enough to mark a headache on the horizon. Man, I just CANnot get behind these kinds of things.

24 oz. can
Served in a perfect pint glass

This beverage pours amber in color and is topped with an inch of beige head that disappears quickly.

I can smell the strawberry right away. The kiwi is more subtle.

The taste is more apple than anything. The strawberry comes through more in the aftertaste. I really don't pick up on the kiwi much.

It is like drinking pop.

If you want something that is high in alcohol and easy to drink on a hot, humid, summer day then this could be for you. I like it in moderation. Twenty-four ounces is a bit much for one sitting. It gets to be awfully sweet after awhile.

Poured from a 24 oz. can. Has a dark golden color with a tiny head. Smell is of strawberries, sweet. Taste is malts, strawberry, sweet, some medicinal notes. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall, it's not up to par with other beers in the Redd's series.
