Redd's Black Cherry Ale has a thin, fizzing-away head, a very bubbly pink-orange, clear appearance, and no lacing. The aroma is of faint fruit and pale malt. There is a similar flavor with no bitterness, but a decent amount of tartness. Redd's Black Cherry has a medium body and a mostly-dry finish.

Oh my is it sweet, definitely cherry in there, slightly medicinal, tastes of cough drops, black cherries, sweet simple syrup, not to fizzy, light in body, one inch head upon pour copper brass in color, good in a pinch in hot weather, but too many of these would wreck your day

Poured from a 24 oz. can. Has a copper color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is like black cherry soda. Taste is black cherry, considerable sweetness, a touch of alcohol, light medicinal notes at the finish. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall ain't bad, but one is enough.

A recent day off took me up to my current employer's offices & while I was in the neighborhood, I stopped in at the Giant Food Store in the Lancaster Shopping Center which has a Beer Café. I saw this one available as a single, so I snatched it up to round out a sixer.
From the bottle: "Limited Pick"; "Special Release".
It had a screwed-up screw-off cap as an infuriating beginning. I held my seething anger in check, though, and performed a gentle pour into the awaiting glass. An in-glass swirl raised a brief finger of fizzy, foamy, bone-white head that acted like pop and quickly fizzed out of existence. Color was Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) with NE-quality clarity, bringing The Gelt Gang of Mammon, Midas & Croesus running in for a sip until they saw what it was & they declined. Nose was quite sweet, like a mashup of sweet red apples & sweet black cherries. Sweet on top of sweet. Not generally my bag, but I was determined to see this through. After all, it was bought & paid for. Mouthfeel was thin & watery, more akin to pop than beer. The taste had the sweetness of black cherry, but the apple was a little more tart than how it had seemed on the nose. I was thankful for that since all of the sweetness might have been too much to bear otherwise. Finish was semi-sweet, very evocative of black cherries and the apple was also quite evident. I might revisit in a CAN, especially during the summer, but as it is now, it was one-and-done.

Aroma is black cherry and apples, no carbonation pop from the twist. The flavor is black cherry, apples and and an alcoholic/sweet fruit punch finish.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear light gold color with a small white head. The aroma is black cherry soda. In fact, it tastes like black cherry soda. Slap a NEHI label on it and you would be hard pressed to guess it was a beer.
