Miller High Life, also known as the Champagne of Beers, is a quintessentially classic, American-style lager. In 1903, Frederick Miller created Miller High Life because he believed that the good life, the High Life, should be accessible to everyone, not just the upper crust. To this day, Miller High Life continues to be faithfully brewed as a golden pilsner, utilizing light-stable galena hops from the Pacific Northwest and a select combination of malted barley.

Poured from a can that somehow managed to find its way into my fridge after a party into a Deep Ellum Pint glass. This is my first BMC since turning 21.
Appearance: Translucent, pale honey. A persistent one finger head that leaves a lot of lacing after it disappears relatively quickly. Looks like most good lagers do.
Smell: Sweet, banana lager yeast. Not particularly pungent, but inoffensive enough.
Taste: This is really sweet, in a corn type of way. Lager flavor comes through on the end. Watery, but that's to be expected with a BMC.
Mouthfeel: Really high, prickly carbonation. Thin, watery body.
Overall: That wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I can see why High Life is considered one of the better ones. I'll need to find some Schlitz Gusto soon, though.

Clear gold pour, two fingers of tight white foam, patchy lace. Nose is malt.
Taste is light kilned malt, hay, floral, faint corn. Mouthfeel is quite light. Finish starts sweet by dries some to a decent crispness. Nothing fancy, but decent for a macro.

When I was younger I liked it, now that I'm older not that much.

A good old school beer. Tastes of maize and catty hops. It’s available practically everywhere and cheap to boot.

Great budget friendly daily drink. Perfectly refreshing for a day in the sun. Great addition to an ice cold cooler for a trip to the lake, beach, pool, or campground. My go-to beer for a long day of yard work in the South Carolina heat.

Simple, straightforward, classic. It's not Old Style, but it is exactly what I want it to be. For the price, it's hard to beat.

My favorite of the macro lagers, and probably the best.

Decent beer for what it is.
Very bubbly, sweet, little to no bitterness, clean. For the price you can’t really complain here. You know what to expect and it won’t let you down.

Poured from a bottle into a pilsner glass.
Look: Pale gold. Medium, fluffy white head. Active carbonation. Fairly good head retention and lacing.
Smell: Sweet. Cracker. A hint of bitterness in the back. A bread quality and even a little citrus.
Taste: Sweet and malty with some light bitterness on the finish. Lemon citrus. More of that bready/ doughy quality.
Feel: Light bodied with lots of carbonation.
Overall: This is a good cheap beer, but it is a little bit too sweet for my tastes. I don't tend to like to have more than one MHL in a sitting because of that fact.

Ol' reliable, I've yet to have a bottle, glass or can that doesn't taste great. Very refreshing and smooth, and pairs well with a lot of foods or just as a drink to have on hand. The worst thing I could possibly say is that it isn't very interesting, but I don't think every beer has to be.
