Mickey's Is an excellent working man's beer. It has just the right bite and the 12 oz wide mouths are conducive to sipping while doing other things so it does not go flat or spill.
I like it with a hearty sandwich and chili cheese chips at noon or just sitting around watching a game, playing poker with the guys or getting deep into a MMO.

Classic gas station beer to get buzzed on. Pours golden yellow, no head. No hops in the smell or taste, lots of corn flavor and very malty.

This is the beer you get when you are low on funds and just want SOMETHING to drink.

I’m an experienced home brewer but from time to time I purchase commercial and craft beers.

I’m surprised that Mickey’s has a poor rating. It’s important to evaluate it in terms of the style. As a malt liquor it’s not going to have a real noticeable hop presence. It’s just a nice drinkable malty beer. I find it really refreshing as a lawn mower beer if I don’t have a home brewed cream ale or Kolsch ready

A favorite of my youth. I'm surprised I'd never reviewed it. Imbibed directly from grenade bottle. It is a clear, grassy golden color with minimal head and lacing. The smell is malt/corn forward. Taste follows: it is a very simple brew: malt, corn, perhaps some other grains. It is modestly sweet with balancing dryness from the barley malt. The mouth feel is lite and crisp with moderate carbonation, and the 5.6% ABV gives it decent substance. Overall, it is important to rate within the style and not to compare it to a much higher quality craft beer. As a Malt Liquor, Mickey's is pretty good. And it is an excellent value. It would make a splendid lawnmower beer.

I remember when I was in my 30s that I couldn't stomach this brew. Now in my 60s it taste so much different. Did they change the ingredients? I don't care what the beer snobs say this is one good economical friendly brew.

Out of the other malt liquors I have had, Mickey's wasn't really that bad. It's very light with some hints of fruit, with a very noticeable flavor profile of corn and malt. It has a very nostalgic smelling profile to me, skunky with very subtle accents of hoppiness. Not bad.

This is not beer. This is a cursed and diseased liquid for masochists who secretly yearn to live and work in a Soviet gulag.

Well I say poopoo to the naysayers. I’ve been enjoying Mickey’s for many years. My especial goto time is after cutting the grass. This beer is crisp, refreshing and after 2 or 3 I am feeling content. Thank you. I wish I could submit a pic. Yard looks great

Look: Clear light yellow with a medium white head that has great retention and leaves nice lacing.
Smell: A light, oily, rather unappealing malt scent is present.
Taste: Grainy bland malt with a strong corn finish that really takes this beer down.
Feel: Medium in the mouth but a tad watery.
Overall: I can tolerate beers that lack flavor, but this disgusting corn finish is a total puke-fest. If you drink Mickey’s quickly straight out of the bottle when it’s ice cold it’ll be a tolerable experience. Never let it warm up enough to taste that corn.
