Very dark, almost black with a healthy tan head (about 1 1/2 fingers) that disipated after a few minutes.
This had a smooth mouthfeel, just the right amount of carbonation.
Overall flavor was very nice - medium body and not too robust; very drinkable. Flavors were roasty but not the burnt roasty flavor that some darker ales have. A little bit of biscuity taste but subtle. Some sense of spices but well blended and subtle so I couldn't tell precisely which ones.
I found it hard to really identify specific flavors in this - things blended very nicely. This was a very interesting and surprising variant of the more traditional Saison. Would definitely like to have more of this but unfortunately, I don't live anywhere near Omaha so I won't get the chance.
