Poured from the bottle into a tasting snifter.
Pours almost black with hardly any head. The smell is the best part of this beer. I'm getting dark fruit and a sweet bourbon note. The taste isn't quite as good. There is some smooth dark fruit and a roasted chocolate malt note, but it seems to be lacking something. There is an alcohol warmth in the finish. The body is thick with no carbonation to speak of.

750 mL bottle shared by Beerontwowheels. Bottle 68 of 240, bottled in 2012.
Pours a dark milk chocolate with auburn tints on the edges and a fleeting tan head that completely disappears after a few minutes. Very mild aroma of alcohol, plum, bitter chocolate and licorice. Medium thick, syrupy body with minimal carbonation; slightly watery throughout. Slightly fruitier sweet flavor than nose, milk chocolate sweetness and a light tang on the finish. Nothing wrong here but nothing exactly right. Very mellow and smooth, a little thin and simple.
