Note: This beer was listed at 7.00% abv tonight and was listed as simply "Hop Head"
Appearance: A dark hazy gold beer with a fluffy ivory cap that has some serious sticking power.
Smell: Sharp citrus and piney hops backed with just a touch of mild sweet caramel malt.
Taste: Sharp pine and tart puckering grapefruit. Not a lot of depth, but the hop flavors are quite fresh and tasty.
Mouthfeel: Crisp and bitter finish, medium bodied.
Drinkability: Medium-high
Conclusion: Quite a simple IPA, not a lot of depth; the caramel malts are quite 1-dimensional, but the hops are quite nice with fresh, sharp, clean aromas and flavors. Overall, a nice brew to find at your local brew pub.

This poured an orange with a small head. It smelled very sweet and, of course, very hoppy/piney. It started out with the sweet malts that I smelled and then went into a very nice grapefruit and hop finish. This is a very good IPA, for it has a nice balance of malts and hops and wasn't overly bitter as some IPAs tend to be.
