Pours a pitch black coloration with a medium, creamy head. Smell is extremely boozy, with a certain rum aroma and notes of chocolate and dark fruit. Taste is just as boozy as the nose, probably worse, and quite sweet as well. Strong chocolate character with notes of dark fruit, mainly raisin, and a hint of toffee. There's also a light estery banana note to this. Finishes bittersweet with a huge boozy aftertaste that borders on nail polish remover. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel with a rich body and very low carbonation.
There are some good elements to this, like the rich rum raisin chocolate character, but unfortunately these get completely drowned out by the extreme booziness and sticky sweetness, which gets worse as the beer warms. This might be quite nice with a year or two on it though.
