On-tap at Braustelle on 4/10/2013. Served in a willibecker. Pours the color of cola with a dense, two inch, tan-colored head that exhibits excellent head retention. Nose expresses a light smoked quality. Taste follows nose - a pleasant, roasted malt backbone with a suggestion of lactose sweetness and some earthy/noble hops at the finish. Mouthfeel is medium-light in consistency with an even carbonation and a slightly dry finish. A little atypical of the style in that I get some sweetness; however, really quite enjoyable and adds an interesting character.
