Once our eyes were opened to the potential of the hop cone, we couldn’t be stopped. With a laser focus, we magnified the hop factor, and pushed the boundaries of flavor, aroma, and perception itself to create HI-RES. It’s Mad Science.

12 oz. can poured into a Burley Oak snifter (Best Before 7/12/14)
A: A quite hazy and cloudy copper colored beer that leaves some decent lacing. Just a one finger head, which dissipates pretty rapidly but keeps a nice little layer of bubbles for a while.
S: It even smells thick and resinous, just like it tastes. Tons of citrus with just this dank malty sweetness that holds it up. There is a weird connecting scent here that I can't quite place but is a bit rank and unpleasant.
T: Insanely resinous. I can see how this is a bigger version of Resin, which I wasn't a big fan of, giving it a 3.55. There is no balance here at all. The flavor here is really weird and not good. It is just super sweet, almost sickly. This is like liquid hop candy and not in a good way. The hops are here are mainly just resinous and pine, with the citrus coming through in the sweetness.
M: Quite prickly and thick. This has gotta be unfiltered at least and probably unpasteurized.
O: So, this is an amped up version of a DIPA that I didn't really like. There is just no balance here, it's just like they didn't finish this beer yet. They should just bring back 3Beans.

Hazy, golden color. Nice, white head. Dank hops, pine, and tropical fruits in aroma. Malty backbone with strong, hoppy bitterness in taste. Full-bodied and smooth.

This is probably too much for me in the abv dept, but pretty darn impressive to hide most any of the booze behind a wall of hops. This one's got some bite to it, glad I tried it and wish there were others from this brewer available locally.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
