Canned on 9/14/18

Pours a dark but glossy orange haze with barely a finger of pillowy soft white head; decent retention fades to a light glazing of foam on the surface while soft walls and specks of lacing hold their ground on the wall of the glass.

Aroma balances a more traditional prickly hop essence with citrusy notes of clementine, orange peel, juicy tangerine, light peach, and soft pine tones; herbal tones are light but make themselves present as well, mainly fresh grass and aloe; a subtle but present malt bill rounds things out nicely.

Taste is an amalgamation of creamy citrus notes and a malt bill influenced by light, prickly hops; a nice herbal, dank hop resin makes an appearance on the finish, just when I start to think the balance here makes things too subtle for its own good.

Mouthfeel provides an excellent balance of juicy and crisp, with a firm, evenly-carbed body providing the foundation; the beer travels smoothly on the palate until the prickly but straightforward finish; I’m really liking the softness with which the flavor profile carries along the palate, remaining both sessionable and impactful all at once.

This has all the makings of an excellent pale ale, but I’m thinking the ‘haze’ worked just a bit too much against it here, largely subduing a flavor profile that has all the potential to burst fantastically on the palate. Don’t get me wrong, as this is a good, very well-constructed PA, but I can’t help but think it could have been so much more if not for the hazy element leveling things out a bit too much.

Pours a hazy golden orange color. A large thumb length frothy head shows good retention with creamy lacing.
Tropical fruit aromas hit the nose; mango, guava and papaya. They impart a sweetness that works well with malt aromas that evoke caramel and honey.
The taste is slightly different in that there at first seems to be more emphasis on citrus fruit, yet, with a relatively drier palate. Hops flavors of orange pith, grapefruit pulp, as well as a middle palate that evokes a light lemon peel tartness, interact with dry cracker malt and caramel. Later, flavors of unripe guava, pineapple, and mango add a tropical touch. A moderate to light bitterness begins to develop, as well as peppery spice, and grassy hops flavors.
Medium bodied with moderate carbonation along with a frothy mouthfeel. Dry at first, the mouthfeel becomes more juicy and with a citrusy and spicy finish that gently stings the throat.
This brew has a lot of elements of NEIPA except that it showcases enough malt flavors to be considered a Pale Ale. Very tasty! Another winner from Sixpoint.

A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color. It poured with a short white head that died down, leaving a thin layer of white bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of orange citrus and floral hops are present in the nose.
T:The taste follows the smell and also has some notes of lime citrus. There is a slight amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This APA is particularly aromatic and flavorful for its relatively light body. It is quite sessionable.

Looks cloudy orange marmalade color, nice white foamy head which laces the glass. Smells earthy, super fruity(fruit salad),mild onion. Taste is delicious. Sort of a "fruit punch" thing going on, with a mild hop bite and semi-sweet finish. Feels perfectly well put together. Nice carbonation, finishes refreshing. With the lower ABV than it's filtered cousin Hootie I would imagine this is very drinkable. Overall a great offering from Six Point.

Appearance - Pours a medium gold color (January '18 release of this beer was slight darker potentially due to a change in malt bill as the original version from December '17 was a straw yellow), 100% haze for dayz, half a finger of foamy white head that was slightly rocky. Looked gorgeous in a glass.

Aroma - Huge tropical fruit notes - tangerine, orange, citrus rinds/peels.

Taste - Same as aroma. Massive tropical fruits with tangerine leading the way and slightly acidic on the backend. January '18 released improved on the mouthfeel as it felt more full bodied and silky despite the lower (5.4%) ABV.

Overall - Just an awesome beer that will hopefully become a staple small-batch release for Sixpoint in 2018. Delivers everything that a New England style beer should at a very manageable ABV that allows for multiples.

They aren't kidding when they say "Hazy" American Pale Ale--this one's opaque corn milk yellow with a moderate, fuzzy white foam settling unevenly in a lump on one side of the glass leaving some fuzzy coral-like lace.

Smell is spicy and cannabic with citrus zests, popping herbal evergreen and pepper.

Taste is a little less spicy, with an almost milky presence of biscuit malt. It still comes with that evergreen and eucalyptus, as well as lemon, lime, orange and mint.

A slick, watery and moderately light body has a crisp fizz, finishing semi-wet to semi-dry. Light and enjoyably drinkable.

This beer is incredibly similar to FPPA. From a brewery that flew under my radar to a beer that I'd buy all the time if I could. Thanks Sixpoint.

Love this one. I typically don't love lower abv beers, but this one is the exception. Juicy and hazy but with classic pale ale taste. This one goes down well now, would be even better in the summer time.
