12 ounce slim can, dated 11/something/18. I recycled the can already. Poured into tulip glass.
Pours dark and black with an off white head of about a finger. Head retention is a bit poor as the head recedes into just a thin ring around the glass. Some lacy blobs though.
Mellow milk chocolate, crushed peanuts, malted milk balls aroma. For a peanut butter beer, not a whole lotta peanut or peanut butter. Let’s see what this tastes like.
Dusty and dry chocolate cocoa powder, malted milk, subtle hazelnuts, vanilla, chocolate malts. Peanut butter is there but more like a peanut butter you’d find in a candy bar.
Smooth mouthfeel, low amount of carbonation, no lingering bitterness.
Somewhat disappointing seeing as this is labeled Peanut Butter Beans. Give me some peanut or peanut butter as the prominent profile!

Pours a thick, inky black with fine, light brown foam.
Smell is roasty with notes of chocolate, coffee and peanut butter and a hint of burnt sugar.
Taste is much more chocolatey than I thought it would be with notes of coffee and a bit of peanut butter.
Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.
Overall, a nice stout, that I hoped would be more PB-forward than it was.

Pours a reddish-hued dark brown with a fat finger of short-lived, khaki-colored head. Solid lacing.
Big peanut butter in the nose with some chocolate behind. Maybe a little whiff of formaldehyde, too.
Tastes pretty much the same. Maybe a little less pronounced peanut butter than I was expecting — but it’s the fancy type with real peanuts in it. The faint formaldehyde is still there, as well as a hint of red wine character.
Full bodied for a porter with lively carbonation.
It’s okay, but I’m not loving the (slight) off flavors in this.

L - 1-finger hazelnut head fades quickly, leaving behind a kettle-black body.
S - peanut butter and chocolate. Such a dessert nose!
T - follows the nose. Bittersweet chocolate and pulverized peanut butter. Has a bit of a Reeses PB cup taste to it. No bitterness. Low sweetness. Low booziness.
F - medium body and carb.
O - very tasty. I just wish the pb was even more present.
