An IPA, according to the waitress. But I'm more inclined to place this in the ESB category for its biscuity, caramel malts and tangy yeast strain. The warm oaken color and refined clarity also say ESB moreso than IPA. Even the scholastic show of lace seemed more typical of an English bitter.
EB named this ale for its exclusive use of Columbus hops, not that it's an overly hoppy beer. But its distinct, herbal hop imprint lingers well and makes this a straight talking session ale that goes down easy. Holds your attention for worthy reasons, though strictly speaking, if this is an IPA, it's missing its hop aroma.
