I had the Caldera Kolsch on tap at Baileys in Portland.
Served an imperial pint, the beer is a bright gold with a sticky white head.
It has a nose of grains, flowers and pears.
The taste tracks the smell. It is grainy and slightly astringent with pear, plum and floral notes. There is also something a bit earthy in the finish which is slightly distracting.
The mouth is medium with carbonation.
I always like to see this style offered!

Enjoyed on draught at the Ashland brewery and restaurant with lunch between driving from Chico to Portland. Poured into a shaker pint, clear yellow with a very small head, bubbles rise up consistently. Aromas and flavors highlight the sweet two-row and Vienna malts, as well as delicate floral and fruity hop notes. Super drinkable. Quite enjoyable.
