An imperial gingerbread latte brew.
Appearance - Pours a reddish copper with three fingers of frothy off-white head.
Smell - earthy and leafy hops, coffee bean, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, roasted malts, cocoa, milky aromas, and earthy yeast.
Taste - earthy and leafy hops upfront. The strong notes from coffee bean, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger come through next. The roasted malts, cocoa, milky characteristics, and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with the coffee bean and spices lingering.
Overall - A pleasant and enjoyable "gingerbread latte" brew from the folks at Flying Monkeys. It's been quite sometime since I've sampled an offering from these guys. This one is a stand out. I feel all elements were on point and the coffee bean complimented the spices. A nice winter warmer to enjoy on this mild Cowtown evening.
