Can: Poured a deep amber color ale with a dark dirty white foamy head with medium retention and light lacing. Aroma of deep caramelized malt notes with some citrusy and earthy hops notes. Taste is a mix of overly sweet caramelized malt with huge bitter hops notes which are not well balanced against the other flavours and a gross sweet finish. Body is full with medium carbonation. Huge ugly mess with limited carbonation.

This particular DIPA hop bomb weighs in at 10.4% abv & 102 IBU. It pours a nice medium/deep amber colour (13-14 on the SRM chart) with a tall off-white fluffy head which dissipates moderately quickly & leaves lots of lacing at first, less as the glass empties. Aroma is full of dank hops with less in the floral/citrus range. Taste follows with a good burst of grassy dank, some mango & less on the citrus/grapefruit/pine/floral but all of these are present as well & a solid bready/caramel malt backbone rounds out the flavour. The taste earns the term 'juicy' & also includes a hint of the alcohol as well but at 10.4% it is well hidden behind pleasant hop flavour. Just a tiny mild astringent bitterness on the back of the tongue which lingers on the finish. Mouthfeel is quite full & carbonation is very good. This is a very nice DIPA, which I would rate just below the best I have tried & yet this one is now readily available to me at a local LCBO while I can only find the others while travelling. I will definitely enjoy this one again.

Better than most high - alcohol beers that I've tried. Less booziness and lots of flavour.

Nice and hoppy but also loaded with sugar, which becomes apparent through sticky lips. This can't be good for you.
Anyway, it's nice and it's boozy (so you won't have more than perhaps two) but I certainly had better, even from Ontario. Great Lakes' RoboHop, as an example.

From a 473ml can served at 13 degrees Celsius into a snifter.
Appearance: A decent looking beer. It pours a hazy amber-brown with 3cm of foamy, tan head that settles into a scraggly cap after 3+ minutes. Not much lacing.
Aroma: Intense hops. Mostly resinous pine and citrusy grapefruit. Medium in strength - not quite the punch in the nose I was expecting. Faint pale malts and a light caramel note help with the hoppy balance.
Taste: My favourite aspect of this beer. The flavour follows suit with the aroma. High hop bitterness. Notes of pine, grapefruit, and grass. The finish is hoppy and medium in length with an additional minerally characteristic.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with lively carbonation. Surprisingly insipid. There is a mild, noticeable warming sensation from the alcohol.
Overall: This beer is all about the hops. It's quite tasty, but it doesn't even come close to some other double/imperial IPAs I've had (Dogfish Head 90 IPA + Oscar Blues G'Knight to name a few). Additionally, it's not cheap. At almost five bucks a can I can't see myself buying this again since it doesn't offer anything special within the style. The most impressive part is the near imperceptible alcohol at 10.4% ABV.

Short and quick review...This one looks nice deep honey with a large fluffy head. On break there is a nice amount of lacing. The smell is heavy on the malts, but the hops are there too. The taste is also heavy on the malts. Tastes a little old, but it's not. The hops linger nicely. Feel is sticky and a bit heavy. Carbonation is medium. All in all not a bad brew. One of the better from these guys.

473 ml can served cold into a tulip. Purchased from the LCBO for $4.95 CDN. An impressive 10.4% ABV and 102 IBU's. Canned February 23, 2017.
Appearance - Pours a deep and slightly hazy orange and amber mixture. Topped with two fingers of dense and frothy off-white head and incredible staying power, Carbonation appears moderate, A great looking beer.
Smell - Plenty of hops with an assertive astringent aroma. Plenty of citrus, but with some pine resin and a stale bread backing. Leafy hops to close na dless citrus that you might expect but pretty decent.
Taste - Starts sharp, rather obviously boozy with hints of orange and tree sap. Next some dense grain bill and then finishes with something unique, kind of a blend between cantaloupe and honey dew. I really like this aspect of the beer.
Mouthfeel - Dense and sticky, carbonation is middling and body is very full. A nice beer to enjoy but I can't imagine drinking more than two of these over the course of a few hours. Possibly too syrupy for my tastes as well.
Overall - A delicious, but flawed DIPA that nonetheless I'm glad to see being canned for enjoyment all across Ontario. Quite good while fresh and certainly worthy of a tipple or two.
