Bottle bought at Las Buenas Pulgas. Served at home ina snifter glass. Copper colour, small white head with short retention, some lacing.
Aroma of ginger, bourbon, syrup, caramel, cinnamon.
Medium to full body, oily texture, normal carbonation. spicy and a bit salty finish.
Taste follows the aroma.
Good.

This is bourbon barrel aged, I'm assuming given the abv this is the right place for this.

Ginger and cinnamon somehow combine to give off the flavor of an ashtray with sugars, spices, and a good hit of alcohol behind them.

I can't really recommend this beer. They have sadly let the spices take over and it isn't imo working. It also drinks hot for the 11.3% and has an odd but unpleasant carbonation amount.

Just a quick qualification, I am not a big fan of Ginger though I'd not turn down a cookie in the right setting. I came in expecting a bit of spice that likely wouldn't hold up to a full glass, but would be unique and a worthy experience. What I keep coming back to here is the mix of cinnamon and ginger with whatever else is going on here is a really off putting smell, the sum of parts is perhaps WAY below parts themselves. This issue is in both the nose and the flavor. I find the nose better and I can get some nice things in the back, but I just don't want to take the time to dig them out. meanwhile the flavor is just all wrong.

Cheers to the creativity, but thumbs down on the end results. I will have to give these guys a few more shots, but I'm also suspecting I'm not liking their yeast but I can't be sure off one beer.
