Tap sample from the brewery: Deep amber lightly hazed ale with a decent cap that lasts. Aroma is sweet malts with a distinct Amarillo hop aroma - spicey citrus. Lovely dose of toffee and biscuity malts in the front are instantly matched by a pine-citrus resinous hop rush which is neither bitter nor overpoweruing, creamy mouth feel, drying finish gets bready and the hops go fruity. Nice ! If I closed my eyes I'd have thought I was drinking a Propeller pale ale...a very approachable, tastily hopped pale just made for sessioning. Possibly the best micro pale available in the ontario market.

Volo Cask Days 2008.
I think this one's leaning towards an American Amber in style.
A: Copper-amber, light tan head, no retention or lacing.
S: Tangerine, Grapefruit, nectarine & cotton candy fruity esters. Not overpowering, but very nice.
T: Tangerine, nectarine, grapefruit, toffee, beer nuts and a slight fruitiness. Great bitterness.
M: Well-attenuated moderate body has a slight hop acidity and an off-dry finish.
D: Very drinkable.
Hopefully we'll see this again!

Cask brewed by Michael Dunnegan for Robert Simpson, at Cask Ale Fest 2008 at Volo. Like a Double Pale, with 65 IBU that was very decent bitterness.Cloudy yellow with lots of bubbles for a cask.Well malted, works well on cask.Medium mouthfeel, delicately done.
