A very fresh growler poured into a pint willi glass yields a hazy reddish-copper body with a glossy layer of fine milk-white foam atop. The head retains at a thick, creamy sheet that leaves 3-D lacing spatterpuffed onto the sides of the glass.
The smell is clean and grainy with a little toasted bready malt and a vague spiciness.
The taste is toasty with a grainy breadiness and a splash of juicy orange and a twist of pithy, bitter rind. The drink is a bit bready and semi-sweet with a dusty dry, spicy, crisply bitter finish. The lingering aftertaste is slightly tea-like with just a touch of astringency.
The drink is medium-bodied with fine carbonation and is very drinkable.
