Sampled at the brewpub, it came out a cloudy pale amber under a two finger off-white head that is fairly creamy and shows good retention, generating proper even lace rings down the glass. The nose has the same floral content as the Helles, but not as pronounced and complemented by a touch of caramel. The mouth is very well carbonated and quite light. The taste opens with mild grain and a bit of sweetness. Floral hops are fairly strong, leaving a nice crisp taste on the tongue. There's caramel lurking here, too, but the lovely floral bitter lasts longest, leaving a spicey, crisp and decidedly not wet aftertaste. A good quaffer.
