on tap at the brewpub in Cleveland. pours a mild caramel brown with one finger of light tan soapy head that has moderate retention and leaves light lacings.

aroma is of smooth caramel malts with a touch of earthy undertones and candied sugar, maybe a touch of brown sugar as well. well proportioned with a sweet overall quality. a note of pear is distant as well.

taste follows the aroma with a fruity tone added, maybe a touch of pear from the aroma and a bit of citrusy hops on the finish.

mouthfeel is medium bodied with a smooth finish and lasting caramel character. a very well balanced ESB.

drinkability is good. pleasant proportioning and smooth on the palate. just what a good ESB should be. cheers!
