The colour is clear, dark wine red. The foam is finger thick, white and quite soft.
The smell is fresh with fine notes of spices, aroma hops, marzipan, dark rum, cranberries and a touch of sweetness. It reminds me of some Belgian dark ale.
The carbonation is average.
The taste is soft and complex with notes of berries (cranberries), sugar candy and some bitter-sour hops that soon pass off. The aftertaste is fruity with some aroma hops.
I found this beer a surprisingly different brew from the normally rather drab Carlsberg Sweden (formerly Pripps). Not perfect in any sense, but a nice break from the norm.
