January 2006: (500 ml can, bought in Sweden). The Falcon Bayerskt version with the lowest ABV. Dark golden / amber colour. Malty, refreshing, decent for a beer as low as 2.8%

L: dark Amber, with a little bit of an off olive tinge
S: toasted malt and lager year on the nose. Chestnuts, light hops
T: Malt up front with a bit of under fermented sweetness. Ppy character, but no real hop flavor.
F: better than most lagers.
O: enjoyable for a lager. Not spectacular.

The colour is washed out red-amber; the two finger airy head is pale beige. Some lacing occurs.

The smell is malty and a little sweet. Some sour notes of sour milk and a dry flavour of hop extract. There is a weak smell of butter and nuts too.

The taste is malty with a mild yeasty touch. Sweet nutty flavours are blended with a dry, chemical and anonymous bitterness. The aftertaste is a little bitter and creamy with flavours resembling of beef stock.
The finish got some notes of butter and cream soda.

The carbonation is very strong, small bubbles. The liquid is light bordering to watery.

For many years, "Bayerskt" ("Bavarian") beer was the only alternative to a pale euro lager when going out in Sweden. Thankfully those days are over.
