As fruit beers continue to rise in popularity, its the Christian Moerlein brewers who tackle the plum- layering it on a highly creamy, bready and slightly sugary wheat beer base and the Ohio Valley will be awash in this summery beer as the heat turns up.
With a heavy cloud appearance, the light whitish color of plum juice laces the haze with a soft pastel mauve glow. As a creamy lather builds upon the beer, its aromatic display is supple and succulent. Bready and sweet to the nose, its delicate plum juices offer an inviting perfume that's mildly grape-like with peppercorn, white pepper, clove and a tinge of smoke.
To taste, the beer's cookie dough taste and texture is rounded and pillow. Creamy in flavor and feel, a light dessert-like taste is evident. Sweet juices and sugar cookie play into a funky plum freshness with the light tannic bite of plum skin for balance. Its final impressions are bready and seemingly of blueberry muffin as the curiosity of plum keeps evolving.
Medium-bodied yet registering fuller on the tongue, the beer's remarkable creaminess is unwavering until the very end when a mild cider, wine and grape acidity dissolves just enough of the wheat malt to offer a high sense of drinkability and crispness.

A: The beer is very hazy pale light yellow in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that died down, leaving just a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of plums and cream are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, but has stronger flavors of cream along with hints of plums. No sweetness is perceptible.
M: It feels light-bodied and a little creamy and smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. Faint bits of tartness are perceptible.
O: This is a very unique beer that tastes like a hybrid between a cream ale (with its smooth and creamy mouthfeel) and light body (from the wheat). It is disappointing that the plum aromas and flavors seemed to be muted.

Aroma is laden with plum sweetness and a light lactic sourness, with plenty of wheat.
Flavor is definitely sweet plum, wheat, hint of sourness. Interesting.
