Soft gold and hazy with lots of champagne like carbonation. Topped with 4 fingers of white, glassy head. Leaves a nice lacing.
Smells very citrusy and of pine, pineapples, very floral and candy like, with a deep, dank resinous quality as well. Also some green herbal qualities.
The taste follows the nose in complexity. Very well crafted session ale. Fruity, floral, and puckeringly hoppy.
Light, tannic body, with moderate carbonation.
Really loveable session ale, fully of hops and mildly sweet, yet maintains a very dry quality. Got this in Bracebridge, drinking on Walkers Point, Jan 8th, 2018.

473 mL can from the LCBO; one of four included in their Experimental Mystery Pack. Dated Nov 23 2017 and served slightly chilled.
Pours bright yellow in hue, with a turbid, translucent body supporting nigh on two fingers of soapy white head that recedes within the next five minutes (give or take). The glass becomes spattered with splotches of lace in the process, with a decent-sized collar of foamy froth also remaining in place. Mostly fruity hops on the nose - not that I'm complaining - with citrusy orange and grapefruit paired alongside hints of mango and pineapple juice. Subtle hints of pine needles and dank resin; it's not what I'd call intensely aromatic, but it's still very nice indeed.
The flavour profile doesn't differ much from the nose, with citrusy notes of tangerine, lemon and grapefruit leading the way, underlain by a wheaty, bready pale malt sweetness (mostly buried underneath the hops). Mango and pineapple juice dominate by mid-sip, but quickly lose ground to more of a piney, pithy, weakly resiny bitterness on the back end; this lingers on into a slightly persistent hoppy aftertaste that slowly fades. Nearing medium in body - not nearly as thin or watery as this pseudo-style often trends, with moderate carbonation that doesn't intrude or distract, resulting in a smooth, soft mouthfeel. When my glass is empty before I'm done the main body of my review, it's a strong indication that I'm dealing with a highly sessionable beer.
Final Grade: 4.19, an A-. Nickel Brook doesn't really have a session IPA in their portfolio, though I suppose you might say NN is pretty close to being one. But I think Mystery Beer B might just be a better overall pale ale, and IMO it's certainly good enough to win this popularity contest. It's a tough choice between B, C and D for me, and I'd be happy to see any of those three win a permanent spot in this brewery's lineup. This is turning out to be one of Ontario's best mixed packs of 2017.

473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. I guess this is a new England Style Session IPA.
Appearance - Pours a yellowy gold colored beer with plenty of haze and a finger and a half of frothy white head. The retention is quite good leaving behind sticky stains of lacing on the glass and some coalescing foam lingers on top of the beer for the duration.
Smell - Plenty tropical with loads of tropical aromas, pineapple and mango being most prevalent. There's also a full bodied nature to the aroma, i.e. it's not the hop water aroma I get with a lot of the lower ABV IPA's, but smells more akin to a full fledged IPA.
Taste - Again follows the nose with pineapple and mango, some grapefruit and sufficiently grainy to paint this as a balanced beer and decidedly not hop water.
Mouthfeel - Medium light bodied, but full enough that the taste is not thin but rather multidimensional. Carbonation is lively and finish is off-dry.
Overall - This is certainly a winner in my books, going for the "session IPA" feel that has cropped up all over the place in the past two years or so, but delivering a beer that has a fuller more well rounded feel that encompasses the malts and grains better than other similar beers. The beautiful appearance is just the icing on the cake. Certainly worthy of bringing into full-time production.
