Straw and hazy with no visible carbonation, and topped with 4 fingers of white head.
Smells hugely hoppy of herbal green notes, citrus and lemons, as well as vinegar.
Light and sour lemon juice, with an herbal green tea puckering finish.
Very light body, acidic and tannic finish. Low carbonation.
Light and refrseshing. Drinking on Lake Muskoka, Jan 9th, 2018.

473 mL can from the LCBO; one of four in their Experimental Mystery Pack. Dated Nov 14 2017 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a hazy straw yellow colour with lots of effervescence; two fingers of soapy, bubbly white head weakens and fades over the course of the next several minutes. An arcing pattern of webbed lace is deposited onto the glass, with a generously frothy collar and thin, smooth cap holding fast on the liquid's surface. Looks good, but it's extremely subtle in terms of aroma - there's faint notes of brine and limey citrus, along with some gritty wheat husks, but that's all I'm really getting off the nose.
Tasty enough, with a clean, simple flavour profile - and quite approachable by sour standards, as the acidity comes off fairly tame. The backbone consists of grainy barley malt and gritty wheat sweetness, which together manage to hold their own against the (much more compelling) flavours that comprise the back end. Lactic acidity blends beautifully with mild sea salt notes - citrusy lemon and lime, as well as an understated hint of coriander come through, with suggestions of pineapple and sour peach. Finishes with a flash of lactic acidity; the saltiness lasts only a fraction of a second longer, leaving the palate feeling mostly dry afterwards. Medium-light in body, with fairly strong carbonation that has a prickly feel on the surfaces of the palate. Refreshing and extremely easy to toss back, both of which are a must for this style.
Final Grade: 4.02, an A-. Nickel Brook's Mystery Beer D is a pretty solid session sour that I polished off rather quickly. The fact that Ontario - or at least, the LCBO - is still pretty darn sparse when it comes to sour brews almost makes me want to vote for this one right off the bat... but I'll hold my horses for now, until I've tried the other three brews stashed in this nifty little mixed pack. Whether it gets my vote in the end or not, D still gets a thumbs up.

473 ml can served at cellar temperature into a pint glass. There's quite a bit to live up to in order to be the mystery beer winner here. Cost was approximately $3.25 CDN.
Appearance - Pours a hazy, very pale golden colored beer with an impressive two fingers of fluffy white head. Good retention and lots of lacing, no complaints here.
Smell - Citrus but a lemon / lime combo with hints of cantaloupe or melon. Wheat and just an overall bubblegum-like aroma that is just noticeable. Wheat present two and a subtle dark berry medley at the end.
Taste - Citrus with lime shows, touches of salt and plenty of wheat. I don;t get the sweetness that was there on the nose (which is appropriate). Rhubarb mixed in.
Mouthfeel - Body is light an easy drinking, carbonation is plentiful but soft, tart finish and quite dry on the close.
Overall - A tasty gose, but the winners of the mystery pack were the IPA's (Beers B and C). This gose certainly isn't a bad tipple though showcasing many strong features of the style.
