Vibrant aromas of vanilla and bumble berry pie are met with notes of gooey raspberry jam and a tart finish. Bright, floral, and juicy.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, from the University Ave. West LCBO in nearby downtown Windsor. My seventh beer from the Burlington, ON brewery.

Poured a 473ml can into a goblet. A two finger fine white head on a cloudy red. The head diminished to a thin layer that stuck around. Some fine lace rings.

Vanilla and fruit in the nose.

An initial lacto sour burst up front. Raspberry leads, Vanilla finishes.

Fairly smooth. A light body and moderate carbonation.

I am not a fan of vanilla in this style but overall a pretty solid Berliner Weisse.

Pours a pale pink colour, midsize head. Tart raspberry and perhaps lactose on the smell. The taste is tart also, raspberry jam and seeds, and some saltiness. As I drink I get a sweet smell and a tart taste all at once. I like this more than I thought I would

473 mL can from Superstore; dated May 20 2021 and served slightly chilled. Made with "Syrian Goldings" hops according to the side label; I am only mentioning this because I found it chuckle-worthy - god I'm a dork.

Pours relatively clear, its body a brilliant ruby-red hue; it's capped off with a quarter inch of smooth, foamy, light pink-tinged head that quickly fades. A thin collar is left behind, with nothing else of interest - it looks like a raspberry sour, I'll give it that. Mild aromas of lactic acidity, grainy wheat and fresh raspberries - not especially juicy, but it does smell authentic, with just the slightest touch of funk.

It tastes of raspberry fruit and jam at the forefront, backed by notes of grainy wheat sweetness and mild lactic sourness. Hints of raspberry seeds before the finish, which features tart raspberry juiciness and more lactic acidity; slight tannic character into the aftertaste, which starts off fruity before trending off-dry. Light in body, with moderate carbonation that feels prickly on the tongue at first; the mouthfeel gets softer and more plush as you make your way through the glass and the carb weakens. Tasty, refreshing, and highly sessionable.

Final Grade: 3.89, a B+. I have no idea if Raspberry Jam Stand is an entirely new beer, or just a spin-off/re-labelling of their Raspberry Über recipe, but I'm leaning towards the latter because there doesn't seem to be any major point of differentiation between the two. OK, maybe one: this is a bit more affordable than the 500 mL bottles that Nickel Brook once used for their BWs. Like its predecessor, this is a pretty darn decent raspberry-flavoured Berliner that I'd recommend to fans of the style (or the fruit) in general.

Review from notes. LCBO purchase for almost $4 CDN. Served cold into a pint glass.

Appearance - Dark purple/pink in color with some haziness. A finger plus of pinkish-white head and good staying power.

Smell - Lots of raspberries with a touch of sweetness. Well rounded raspberry aroma.

Taste - Medium sour, quite a bit of raspberries, could use a touch more sweetness. Graininess in the background. Going from memory - but hard to tell a difference between Raspberry Jam Stand and Raspberry Uber.

Mouthfeel - Medium light body, lots of carbonation. A bit gassy.

Overall - It's good but is highlighted by the aroma. Unlikely to pick up another.

Pours a good sized, firm pink head that quickly dissipates. No meaningful lace. Slightly hazed ruby red colour. Tart fruit on the nose, appetizing raspberry. Sour and fruity on the palate. Plenty of juicy raspberry, not super beery. Slightly metallic in character. Good summer or lightweight fare.
