Pours a slightly hazy amber with a large white head. Smells of malts, caramel, and fruit. Tastes of sweet malts, caramel, and a very odd sour note that shouldn't be so apparent in an amber. Medium in body and carbonation. Overall it would be an average amber, but that sour note is just way too off putting.

Way to much foam! The look and flavor are nice and distinct.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass.

A: Pours a deep copper red, thick two-finger foam due to quick pour, but settles over time. Visible carbonation.
S: Cherry, apple, toasted malt, Tucson water!
T: A typical red ale (to me), more caramel maltiness than hops, very fruity, and that bitter something in the Tucson water supply that gives these Nimbus brews a unique dry, finishing flavor (not bad, but nothing refined)
M: Lighter-medium bodied, very drinkable, carbonation not overpowering
O: I used to get the Brown Ale and Monkeyshine a lot, but the Red Ale is a good go-to for something more balanced and pairs well with a lot of different foods. I'm partial to local brews, and as far as Nimbus goes, this is my favorite.

Recently purchased 12 oz bottle.

Like other beers from this lousy brewery, this one gushed out of the pint glass with just a small pour. The aroma is bad and the flavor worse. Incompetently crafted and highly likely to be infected. I have had had 4-5 other bad beers from the brewery, from multiple sources on different occasions. Moreover, both of the other two people I know who have had a Nimbus have had similar poor experiences, also ending with a drain pour. I can now put this on my small list of never again breweries and urge anyone reading this to do the same.

O: AVOID!

This Nimbus Red Ale has a sour taste I can not get past, and Reds are usually my thing.
