Calvados has a unique taste that with barrel aging gives a nice twist to the beer that has been on it. This time a Strong Saison. Expect the characteristic Calvados flavors and aromas such as apple, sweet fruits and oak. These together provide a warming and alcoholic mouthfeel.

Copenhagen 29/10 2024. 3 cl waxed bottle from Beershoppen web-shop. Brown label with the name of beer and brewery in white and a big red "&".
Pours unclear dark amber with a small white head, Bubbly. Disappears after a few seconds leaving no traces behind. No lacing.
Aroma is intense with a sweet, sugary and boozy odor mingling with tart, sour notes. Sweet liqueur and Calvados. Woody. Raisins and plums Unripe, tart gooseberries and a whiff of citrus.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, a bit greasy, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong tart sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and a bit boozy. Lingers for a while. Finish is sweet with a distinct touch of woody alcohol.
Quite sweet and boozy, barrel-aged Saison.
