Appearance: reddish brown, great clarity, thick layer of sudsy light tan foam that slowly collapses, lace
Aroma: chocolate cake, caramel malt, hint of licorice
Flavor: malty sweetness laced with a hint of roast, licorice, toffee, brown sugar, and cocoa; finishes semisweet with a rusty aftertaste
Mouthfeel: medium body, zippy carbonation, soft texture
Other comments: As far as schwarzbiers go, I'm not sure about this one (probably needs a bit more dark/black malt). However, it's a good warming brew for the winter.
