Copenhagen 20/11 2015. 33 cl bottle from Aldi, Frederikssundsvej, Kbh. NV. Label looking like a Christmas present. Ready for unpacking.
Pours clear reddish brown with an off-white head. Settles as a 0,5 cm thick layer of foam. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma is of caramel and roasted malts. A little booziness as well.
Medium strong carbonation and slightly oily palate.
Flavor is quite boozy and a bit metallic. Aftertaste is sour and bitter metallic alcohol.
After tasting it I am not sure it was a good idea to unwrap this gift.

33cl bottle poured into a 'La Chouffe' tulip on 31st Dec 2012 during my 'Drinking around Europe' evening.
As you might expect by the name: it's golden in appearance, but this is an old gold, reddy brown golden colour. On top a thin white covering of weak bubbles.
Semi-sweet malty molasses in the nose: giving caramel and fruitiness to the aroma.
The taste follows the smell: malty and semi-sweet. Not very Christmassy to be honest, just a semi-sweet, high alcoholic lager really.
Body wasn't robust enough to take the alcohol content: an awful headache would follow two or three of these.

Brewed with sugar; coloured with caramel.
The colour is brown-red, the liquid clear. The finger thick head is beige. Almost no lacing.
The smell is sweet and malty with some light roasted notes. Notes of dried fruits and a hint of alcohol. It reminds me of a bock.
The taste is quite mild. Some lightly roasted flavours with a hint of salt, lots of sugar-sweetness. Some alcohol in the aftertaste, as well as hints of rye bread and salted crackers.
The carbonation is mild with lots of small fresh bubbles. The liquid is smooth, almost sticky.
Much better than expected, the alcohol is well hidden in this one.
