Copenhagen 26/1 2020. 50 cl can from Aldi, Frederikssundsvej, Kbh. NV. Fairly boring in can in Black and dark brown where they carefully write the “EXTRA” in big, bold, capital letters. No double who they are catering for.
Pours clear golden yellow with a medium-sized white head. Settles as a very thin, flimsy, yet frothy layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense, sweetish and with a metallic odor. Sweet pale malts, sugar. Light grainy, sourish odor. Metallic edge of alcohol.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, oily, tingling texture.
Flavor has a strong sweetness followed byba moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a harsh bitter undercurrent which gets stronger as the beer warms up. Lingers for a bit.
Typical Danish strong beer. Pale, too sweet and fairly boozy.
