Jotun means giant. In Norse mythology, UtgÄrdsloke was the king of the giants. His army of trolls was constantly waiting to invade the world of the gods, Asgaard, and create chaos and Ragnarok - only held back by Thor and his hammer. The home of the giants is known for cold and snow, but with a Jotun in hand, there is warmth in even the darkest giant's mind. Jotun is a light beer, inspired by the bright Christmas cookies. The color is golden with snow-white foam on top. The taste is filled with sweetness and the aroma leads thoughts towards Christmas with the spicy warm notes.

Copenhagen 5/1 2019. 75 cl bottle from Netto, Lygten, Kbh NV. White label in Frejdahl usual design. This time with Golden Snow crystals.
Pours slightly hazy, golden orange with medium-sized white head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is intense, sweetish and quite herbal. Ginger, cardamom, licorice, black pepper. Lighter citric notes.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, soft yet lightly prickly texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by a medium strong spicy, herbal bitterness. Aftertaste is moderately bitter with a sweet undertone. Lingers shortly.
More Christmas Spices than Blond Ale.
