Copenhagen 30/4 2017. 75 cl bottle from Føtex. Comes in a fine box just like their past endavours Skolder and Skadi. This time they live out their Viking Fetisch by naming the beer (this should be beer brewed with Mead) after a Valkyrie.
Pours golden yellow - almost orange - with white head. Settles as thin almost transparent layer of foam.
Aroma is sweet. Honey, exotic fruit like papaja and mango, citrus and a surprisingly light whiff of alcohol when you consider the ABV.
Soft carbonation and thick oily palate.
Flavor is dominated by alcohol. Heavy sweetness followed by medium harsh bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and a bit sticky with harsh metallic boozy notes mingling with rough bitterness.
I do understand all this stuff about Valkyries in armor and being bad ass. But it’s a bit too much when I get the feeling that I can taste the chainmail.
