Amber red. Vinous. Spicy.
This year, you will be treated to a Belgian Dubbel.
The aroma is characterized by fruit, nutmeg and lightly roasted almonds. The taste is full, warming and with a touch of anise and plums.
This beautiful amber red beer is rounded off with mango and passion fruit, which contribute a characteristic taste and discreet sour notes.

Copenhagen 26/12 2017. 66 cl bottle from SuperBrugsen. Another feature in Vestfyns Annual series of Christmas Beer. Some guy in uniform with epaulettes and triangular hat on the red label.
Pours hazy brown with red hue and bubbly off-white head. Settles as thin layer of foam barely covering the surface of the beer.
Aroma is rich and sweet. Caramel, dark fermented fruit, hints of butter and sourish tart bitterness lurking in the background. Modest notes of nutmeg.
Soft to medium carbonation and medium thick palate.
Flavor is heavy sweet with only weak tart bitterness for balance. Aftertaste is sweet and sugary and manages to hide the alcohol pretty well.
They do not manage to hit the Belgian style very well. So it ends up being a rather sweet and strong Christmas Beer. But that is not too bad in December.
