Fimbul is Bryggeriet Frejdahl's Christmas beer 2015.
A creamy, slightly bitter and fruity beer that hits the holidays like a lost snowball. It is brewed with malt and wheat flakes while orange peel and ginger give edge and character. The color is warm orange, with a chalky white head, reminiscent of the Fimbul winter that in Norse mythology lasts three years.
A fresh breath from the Nordic mountains when the fireplace crackles or the table is to be set with the heirloom silver. Merry Christmas.

Copenhagen 16/12 2015. 50 cl bottle from Føtex, Mimersgade, Kbh. NV. Another feature in Vestfyns' viking adventure wit Jm Lyngvild. A golden pig on the label - leads the thoughts to the Danish main Christmas dish roast pork.
Pours slightly hazy orange brown with a small white head. Disappears quite fast leaving only a thin rim by the side of the glass. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma distinctly of ginger. Something sweet and fruity in the background.
Medium strong carbonation and slightly thick palate.
Flavor is of ginger with a hint of peppermint. Gives you the slightly unpleasant feeling that you drink beer right after brushing your teeth (I would not recommend doing that).
Fimbul should mean "very big". Unfortunately this ain't a very big beer. Too much toothpaste.
