Barley Wine inspired beer, flavoured with sherry barrel aged, Danish mead. Danish pilsner malt and dark caramel malt give a sweet full body. The blend of Galaxy and Amarillo hops creates fruity and sweet flavour nuances. Aromas of red berries, Nordic flowers and sea buckthorn juice round out the flavour and create the perfect balance to the beer's malty body.

Copenhagen 27/6 2015. 75 cl bottle from Føtex, Mimersgade, Kbh. NV. New Norse inspired series with this one apparently named after a Valkyrie. Nice giant pig is strolling across the label.
Pours slightly hazy copper brown with a big off-white head. Stable. Settles as a 2 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is sweet. Caramel, fermented fruit and citrus. Maybe a little sherry that they brag about on the label.
Soft carbonation. Medium thick, oily, a bit greasy, almost flat texture.
Flaor is sweet and boozy. Sweet berries and a bit harsh, bitter aftertaste. Metallic notes of alcohol.
Herja would certainly make a Heathen Norse ritual a little bit more entertaining.
