Every year, the Vestfyen brewery makes a new version of their Willemoes Jul. This year it's a 'Black Imperial Dobbelbock'.

Copenhagen 30/12 2016. 66 cl bottle from SuperBrugsen, Brønshøj Torv, Brønshøj. Funny pale fellow with triangular hat and epaulets on the label. Some Ice Crystal to remind it’s Christmas.
Pours opaque dark brown with an off-white head. Stable. Settles as a patchy thin layer of foam. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma is sweet. Brown sugar in abundance, roasted malts, cocoa and hints of what smells like sea weed.
Soft carbonation and fairly thick palate. Creamy almost flat texture.
Flavor has an intense sweetness followed by a medium strong coffee/dark chocolate bitterness. Finds an okay balance. Bitter aftertaste. Lingering.
Hard to understand that the guy with the weird hat is so pale if he has been sipping this beer.
