Copenhagen 4/12 2016. 50 cl bottle from Føtex, Mimersgade, Kbh. NV. Another feature in Frejdahls apparently never ending line of Nordic Viking beers. To illustrate the point there are some Nordic bearded statues on the label.
Pours hazy red amber with a white head. Stable. Settles as a thin layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is sweet with a herbal sour tang. Sweet caramel with a touch of almond and a little licorice.
Medium strong carbonation and watery palate. Lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium sweet and dominated by a herbal sharp sourness. Bitter licorice in the aftertaste.
Not especially beautiful to look at but one of the more decent brews in the endless line of Viking beers.
