I must have had the same waitress as Marburg. Mumble Aniversary mumble ESB mumble.
Decent head if a bit small is typical of GP beers. Clear carmel colored. This one leaves a beautiful lacing pattern.
Described as roasted malt and very hoppy but I smell a lot more roasted malt than hops.
Hello! there's the hops. Very nice. The initial hop shock diminishes into a smooth sweet taste then finishes quite strong. It tastes almost like a burnt taste at the end. It's not unpleasant, in fact it might go very well with BBQ. This is the tastiest GP beer I've had.
Medium to heavy body with modest carbonation.
This beer got even better by the end so I had another. It was just as good.

Firstly, I'd like to apologize if I entered this brew's name incorrectly. The waitress kept fumbling the name, and the sign was of little help. Here's what I know for sure: This is a special version of their ESB brew.
And it's good -- for the most part. Awfully dark brown in color, it was difficult to see through in the dimly lit bar. Very little head. Powerfully pungent hop aroma reminds of grapefruit. The first sip confirms suspicions developed by the nose: This is just a bit too damn hoppy. Having a big time Cadcade, west-coast IPA flavor to it, this beer was very flavorful -- but almost to its detriment. This brew is something of a malt invertebrate, sadly. But it's tasty nonetheless, especially if you're into hops at all. A good change of pace, too, from my usual rotation of Belgian and German beers.
