Vintage 2017 brewed with rye malt, smoked barley malt and honey and fermented with Saison yeast. A mineral, charred bitterness with a slight residual sweetness and deep spiciness from the fermentation. This crisp brew stands strong with the fatty, salty cuisine with blackfoot ham and porchetta.
Brewed in collaboration with the Lithuanian microbrewery Sakiskiu Alus.

Copenhagen 3/5 2020. 33 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. White labels with small squares carefully explaining how unique thus -rye -saison made in collaboration with a Lithuanian outfit with a unpronounable name.
Pours slightly unclear maroon with a small off-white head. Settles a thin patch of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing
Aroma is medium intense with some sweet malts, smoke and light notes of tart berries. Sweet rye, peat, caramel, subtle smell of citrus and tart gooseberries.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, greasy, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a lighter tart sourness. Aftertaste is sweet with peaty smoke creeping in. Lingers for a while into the finish.
Quite unusual take on a Saison. More smoky than tart. But nice.
