The description of this brew sure sounds interesting, american pale wheat fermented with brett and steeped with a trio of fruit. Unfortunately, the tasting experience pales in comparison to the description.
Draft offering at Bullfrog served in a standard pint glass. The brew appears a hazy pale golden yellow color with a quick fading white cap. Some spots of lace hang on the glass. The brew appears as you would expect for a typical american wheat ale.
The aroma opens with straw grain to wheat that opens up to more notes of sulfur and grassiness/earth. Not much of the advertised fruit or brett other than minor traces of earth.
The taste is herbal and grassy with minor fruit notes with a touch of pepper. Very faint pineapple in the aftertaste but honestly, that might be a stretch just to find something as advertised in this. As it warms I get more orange rind quality and pith than any of the advertised adjuncts.
This is a light bodied brew with a light amount of carbonation. I just dont know what to think of it. Either it was rushed and the brett never developed or it finished and just wasnt what was intended so they added fruit...I dont know. This was a miss for me.
