I usually compare my saisons to Dupont or Ommegang Hennepin. As such this had a great color but almost no head, whereas I should see something dense and long lasting. A Belgian style beer should have "Belgian Lace" there was absolutely none. I also had an expectation of citrus aromas (it was slight) and an almost imperceptible spiciness (pepper or clove was missing). Flavour was similar. Usually I can understand a bad batch or an old keg, however in this case the bartender did not want to remove this beer from my bill when I sent it back (which I almost never do) and argued that I did not know what the definition of a Saison was. I did have a couple other of their beers which I gave a good rating.

 

Wild yeast fermented saison made with pineapple and coconut. Smells like a pina colada but the taste doesn't quite live up to the smell. A fun beer to try.
