A Porter style beer is a weaker, lighter version of Stout. Ours is brewed with some chocolate malt and black malt for color and flavor. We use a special roast of coffee from Common Grounds for a smooth, mellow java flavor, putting a modern twist on a historic English pub tradition.

Served in a 23oz pilsener glass.
The color is definite Porter, but in the lighter range and it came with quite a nice very light tan head. Lacing did occur in a nice concentric pattern.
Aromas were faint, but hit many of the expected notes of roast, malt sweetness, chocolate, and coffee. The use of coffee hasn't given this an overwhelming or even really distinctively joe-like nose. It's as if a few beans got tossed in, but not the whole bag, and they were old at that.
Even if it was old, the flavors veer away from bitter or stale; it's quite sweet. The sweetness is malty, but holds an out of place fruity quality. Again, some chocolate, coffee, and roast.
Texture was only notable in that it was thin.
Overall, it's lucky to score this high. This beer is unremarkable.
