16 oz can from the Boise Co-op- Meridian. Orange golden body with a haze to it, capped with small, fizzy head. Aroma features a combination of Light Citrus and freshly baked bread. Taste continues this with a very malty, bready flavor, capped with a hint of citrus. Medium weight body coupled with a really nice feel. Listed as a Norwegian Farmhouse ale, never heard of it, brewed with kviek yeast. Whatever it is, it's smooth and tasty

Poured from 16oz can into a tulip.

Appearance: light golden-yellow hue with a moderate haze and a thick finger of frothy ivory foam; it's a good looking beer.

Smell: lightly malty with lots of lemony and grassy aroma. Kveik strains can be very expressive, so I'm not sure whether this is coming from the hops or the yeast, but whatever the case, it's good.

Taste: bready malt with a little bit of biscuity character, layered on with that floral, lemony character. It's pretty tasty, though I will admit the floral-lemon combination is pretty reminiscent of soap. I kinda like that, though.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body but with a big dose of carbonation that yields a surprisingly good creaminess. I like it.

Overall: this is a very lemony, botanical-tasting saison, but it's damn refreshing. Good stuff.

Cloudy orange with one finger of bone color head. Rings of lace form as the head drops.
Funky yeasty aroma.
Taste is dominated by the funky yeast flavor.
Mouthfeel is light to medium with ample carbonation. Finish is slightly wet and balanced.
Overall a strange brew for sure. I did enjoy it.

i am liking this yeast, but the context has to be right, and i think this comes across a little heavy and overly sort of belgian estery for what it is, all low alcohol and springy, its not quite as drinkable and refreshing as it seems like it should be, but i like the flavors pretty well, at least until it comes up to temperature and the yeast takes over. there is a distinct added citrus element here, like i was sure they put oranges in it or something when i was drinking it, but that doesnt appear to be the case. whatever the hops are they are very fruity in this, lemony, tangerine, clementine, all of that, sharp a little as it warms, but on pitch with the fruitiness of the yeast as well. a strong white wine note, light juniper and sage even, pretty tasty, but the feel is wrong. this is wheaty and raw and not real well refined, and as such it has more body than is needed, and the dryness i like in the style isnt really there. less refreshing than it should be, but they did a cool job putting hops and yeast together here, and its neat to see these guys be pretty successful across a range of styles now. i have liked what ive had from iron horse so far, this is close to excellent, a few tweaks away from being a perfect summer saison...
