Biere de Mars aged in blackberry whiskey barrels. 750 ml bottle with an ABV of 6.4%. Pours a brilliant golden color with a thick, dense head. Heavy lacing is left down the glass. Aroma is fruity with vinous qualities. I get blackberry but not the whiskey. The flavor likewise does not seem like a barrel-aged beer. It is vinous and fruity. Proper fermentation ensures there is no wet cardboard flavor that haunts too many American examples of Belgian style beer. A little under carbonated for my preference in this style of beer. Medium body. A nice beer but I definitely wanted a lot more barrel character to come through. Therefore I feel it was not worth the price.
