Served via hand pump at proper cellar temp, this ESB is a nice mahogany with a creamy tan head. The beer has simply awesome lacing.
Inviting nose of pine, caramel and sweet malts.
Given the gorgeous look and nice smell, I was really looking forward to drinking this beer. The taste is slightly bitter with a bit of pine resin. It seems well balanced with malts adding an almost brown sugar touch. Unfortunately, the beer seems a bit drawn and thin in the taste department. Its almost there, but needs a slight boost in taste. I know they were getting ready to add another seasonal, so maybe this beer was at the end of its life.
The Mouth is very soft and creamy. Even given the slight taste constraints, it is an easy drinker.
