rather mild for a rye based beer, but it sure is easy drinking. one of the more simple and sessionable beers going here at yellowstone valley. it has a deep golden to copper color, and a short half inch of white airy head that dissipates fast. a nose more of sweet crystal barley malt than of spicy and earthy rye. a hint of peppery weirdness to it, but its real light. i think from the nose alone they easily could have boosted the rye quantity considerably, but its nice as an accent too, and the hops smell nice as well, almost english in nature, subtle as well, but proportioned perfectly. the flavor is a lot like the nose, surprisingly less flavorful than i thought it would be. some hop bitterness on the back end to combat the sweeter malty middle, but the impact of the rye is very minimal here, definitely left wishing for me. carbonation is also a shade under where i like it to be in a pale ale type, but the flavors that are there are nice, maybe a touch tinny, but its good easy drinking beer. one of the more popular beers they make from what i understand. personally i would like more rye flavor in it.

The Buffalo Bill Cody is a standard drinkable lager. There is not that much going on with this one. The beer poured a clear golden color with thin white head that is not lacing. The scent is typical of most pale lagers...mostly a biscuit type malt. The taste is even between bitter hops and semi-sweet malt. The mouthfeel is light in body with decent carbonation. Overall its solid...but not much going on.

Poured from a 12oz standard pressure-cap bottle into a pint glass in high elevation Kalispell, Mont. Reviewed live.

A- Two-finger creamy white head with long retention. Lasts about two-minutes. Orange-red body, semi-cloudy. Nice looking beer.

S- Rye, slight sourness. Not much in the beer. Maybe my nose is broken.

T- Rye graininess. Slight bitter notes. Very refreshing.

M- Slightly grainy, lighter bodied.

O- Refreshing beer, but the rye is the only thing that stands out. Serviceable session beer.

The beer pours a hazy golden color with a white head. Smells...sour? Yeast, grass, and bread give it a bit of a pils-type aroma. Light fruitiness and some overall graininess. The flavor is quite tart and lemony. A little bit of bread, some grassy hops, yeast, and maybe a little bit of fruit. Really light with high carbonation. Not good at all.
